Edwin C. Mortemore

Edwin Mortemore, age 90, of Grand Rapids, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026.
He was born at home on March 10, 1935, the son of Edwin and Nellie (Curson) Mortemore. Edwin married the love of his life, Barbara, on September 10, 1955. She preceded him in death on August 11, 2021, after many devoted years of marriage.
Edwin was a former member of the Neapolis Church of Christ and generously served his community as a Boy Scout leader, guiding and mentoring young people with patience and kindness. He was extremely gifted in the arts and crafts he loved, including his unique artwork, crocheting, woodworking, and painting. His creativity and skill were a true reflection of his thoughtful and hardworking nature.
Above all else, Edwin loved his family deeply, and they were the center of his life. He will be remembered for his talents, his service to others, and his gentle, loving spirit.
Edwin will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children Penny Fern of Virginia, Tammy Mortemore of Perrysburg, Ohio, Brenda (John) Robinson of Kentucky, sister Helen Sims of Indiana, 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Barbara, brother Jim Mortemore, and granddaughter Tabitha Guth.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home Whitehouse, Ohio located on 6603 Providence St. 43571.
