Elizabeth Conklin Obituary

CONKLIN

Elizabeth A.

Elizabeth A. Conklin passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at age 23. Liz was a natural beauty, with a gentle and sweet nature and a wonderful smile. She was born in Bryan, Ohio on May, 13, 1991, to George and Susan (Kajtaniak) Conklin. A 2009 graduate of Sylvania Northview High School, she attended the University of Toledo and Owens Community College. Her happiest times growing up were spent swimming at the cottage or the JCC and at Fort Myers Beach walking along the waves. Spirited and fun-loving, she loved playing team sports, especially softball, with her Grampi as favorite score-keeper. She enjoyed music and drawing. Her furry friends, Adina, Fatty and Purps, gave her comfort and joy. She cherished time spent together with her extended family and especially looked forward to holiday celebrations. She honored her Grandmother by baking her special recipe pumpkin pies every Thanksgiving. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sylvania, she also attended Friendship Baptist Church of Toledo. Throughout her recent struggles she was loved and sustained by her family and her dearest and loving companion, Brian Yourist.

Elizabeth will be deeply missed by her parents; brother, Geoffrey (fiancée, Alisha), and grandfathers, Joseph Kajtaniak and George A. Conklin. Also surviving are her loving aunts and uncles and many special cousins. We know she will be embraced by her grandmothers, Irene Kajtaniak and Rita Conklin as she enters into the Lord's light and peace.

Family and friends will be received at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 14, with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Church, Sylvania, Ohio on Monday, December 15, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Naomi House, 2321 Warren St., Toledo, Ohio 43620 or St. Joseph Church, 5373 Main St Sylvania, Ohio. Condolences may shared with the family at:

Liz was a great person, I went to highschool with her, and she would always be smiling. She will be missed and God will help us see through the mist into a brighter and beautiful day. Keep faith in God and stay inbeded in his word. I pray that God watches over the family as they deal with this tough time. R.I.P Liz.
