Eric is survived by his

I worked with Eric briefly during my job search a little over a year ago. While it was a short time, Eric made a profound impact. He was incredibly cordial, bright, funny and wicked smart! He had a presence that instantly put me at ease, and he was one of the nicest people I've ever had the privilege to come across in a professional setting. You can't fake that; Eric's kindness was effortless, and he clearly loved what he did. I am incredibly lucky to have crossed paths with Eric, and he will be deeply missed. I wish nothing but peace for his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

All my best,

I had met Eric while working with him at InnerWorkings. He was always helpful and nice to me. Not being from Chicago, he always offered suggestions of places and also invited me to events going on around the city to meet new people. Its truly sad. My heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

I only met Eric once, through an acquaintance. He was a wonderful friend to that person when she needed it desperately. May this and many more shared memories of Eric hold you up and find ways to carry on his legacy of caring for others.

Eric and I were close friends in Chicago. One of my coworkers had heard through an email (he and Eric both played Euchre at one of the local pubs) of his passing and let me know. It was as if someone had kicked me in the stomach. Eric was such a special person and so kind. I wish I had been able to say goodbye. Eric, wherever you are Im sending you love and I will always remember our times together (especially the Chineese circus, lol). I will miss you terribly. Only the good die young!

I moved to Chicago not knowing anyone and then God sent me Eric Mugler. He and I shared a lot of time together and I also had the honor and pleasure of meeting his Mom, Dad and fabulous sister. I saw a loving family unit and I felt joy. Eric was a big personality with a heart as big. What a wit and presence like nobody else I knew. He was more than a friend. He helped me through a difficult time in my life as my mom had passed away and I had no other immediate family. He made Chicago feel like home and like I had a family in him. I am back in Boston and Eric and I had plans. Now my plan is to hold him close to my heart and when we meet again (and we will) pick up where we left off. RIP my dear friend and God bless you and all of your family. I love you!
