Eric Sawchuk Obituary

SAWCHUK Eric Miles Eric Sawchuk died tragically on Sunday, February 1, 2009, at the age of 41 on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Eric was born on November 13, 1967, the son of Peter Sawchuk and Janice Cousino. Eric was a passionate, caring man. He held spending time with his family, hunting, and helping others most dear. Following his dreams, Eric moved to Hawaii to pursue a career in respiratory therapy. While living in Hawaii Eric earned his R.N. degree and worked as a trauma nurse for The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu. In his free time Eric enjoyed producing a one man cable show, "Hawaii Sportsman" which aired on Hawaii's public access channel. To see Eric's website go to www.hawaiisportsman.com Eric is survived by his wife, Theresa (Tia) Bioran Sawchuck, of Waialua, HI; his children, Jessica and Keno; parents, Janice Cousino of Toledo, Peter Sawchuk of Swanton; sister, Jennifer Hess of Columbus, and brothers, Scott Oglesbee, Jeff Oglesbee and Zachary Sawchuk of Swanton. Eric leaves two young children and a wife who is battling an aggressive form of breast cancer that has since spread to other parts of her body. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sawchuk family via the Bank of Hawaii. Checks should be made to "The Children of Eric Sawchuk" and mailed to Bank of Hawaii, Main Branch, P.O. I am so sorry to hear about Eric.. he and I were good friends way back when at MCO when he was a Respiratory Therapist and I worked on 5CD... he was a wonderful person and will be missed my many.

Many BHS class of 86 hearts were saddened this week on the news of Eric's death. The news spread like wildfire on facebook.
My thoughts and prayers have been of him and his family this week. May memories of Eric bring you comfort during this difficult time. He was a great guy at BHS and it appears his greatness continued.
