Esther Rogovin Obituary

ROGOVIN Rogovin, Esther, W., 90, of Weston, FL, passed away January 28, 2003. Born in New York, originally a Nurse, became a resident of Miami in the early 1950's when she was a civic activist. Esther led the fight against the price fixing policies of the dairy industry. She subsequently became a well known radio and television personality with her "Time For Truth" programs and newspaper columns. Her programs and newspaper articles addressed civic as well as local and national political issues. Esther actively supported the Jewish Home For the Aged, the Salvation Army, the Democratic Party and Law Enforcement Organizations. In addition, she was a marriage and family counselor-consultant. She was pre-deceased by her husbands, Louis Rogovin and Benjamin Harpay. Mrs. Rogovin is survived by her daughters, Miriam (Dr. Daniel) Barkus and Sandra (Herbert) Zimmerman; grandchildren, David Barkus and Lori Barkus; and her sisters Winnie ( Lester) Hoffman and Ricki Levitt. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, February 3, 2003 at 12:00 noon at the Beth David Levitt-Weinstein Chapel; 3201 NW 72 Ave, Hollywood. Interment to take place at Lakeside Memorial Park, Miami, FL.
