Eugene J.

Eugene J. Eggleston, age 77, of Toledo, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015, at Parkcliffe Communities. He was born on December 2, 1937, to Alvin and Sophie Eggleston in Streator, Illinois. Eugene was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was employed with Owens Illinois for over 25 years. Eugene was a longtime member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church. He loved all outdoor activities, especially fishing and spending time at Coldwater Lake.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Eggleston. Eugene is survived by his identical twin brother, Norman (Carolyn) Eggleston; children, William Eggleston, Daniel (Laura) Burke, Edward Eggleston and Jean (Willie) Ward; stepchildren, Kimberly (Richard) Hoover and Stephen Miller; grandchildren, Mara and Morgan Ward, Jeremy and Carly Burke, and Miranda and Taylor Hoover; nieces and nephews, Gina, Kelly, Todd (Julie) and Jaime (Bradley), and several great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests on Thursday from 3-8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900).

I was in the USAF with Gene Both at Chanunte Air Base and again at Walker Air Base also fished with him on lake Mich and lake Eire he was a good friend will miss him very sorry for your loss
