Fred Hott Obituary

Fred Hott, 92 years, of Holland passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2006, at Ridgewood Manor, Maumee. Mr. Hott was born in Toledo on October 20, 1913, to John and Carrie (Martin) Hott. He married Faye Yeager in Angola, Indiana on July 1, 1932, and she preceded him in death on March 23, 1985. Fred not only worked as a farmer, but also drove truck for Jeep for over 30 years retiring in 1977. An avid horse lover, Fred was a member of the Tri-State Association; Quarter Horse Association; and the UAW. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving is his daughter, Janet Ritzenthaler; son, Richard (Wanda) Hott; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Bette (Jim) Palmer; Evelyn (Herald) Burke and brother, Dan (Mollie) Hott. He was preceded in death by his son, Fred, Jr.; sisters, Florence and Helen.
Friends will be received in the Neville Funeral Home Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland (419-865-8879) from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2006, with Pastor Norma Mercurio officiating. Burial will follow at Springfield Township Cemetery.

I adopted Fred as my Grandfather years ago. He watched me grow in the horse business and enriched my life with his knowledge of the horses. There is now a void in my life where this talented horseman once sat. But now he sits in my heart and I know he is riding tall in heaven. God bless.
