Garry Jones Obituary

JONES Garry Lee Garry Lee Jones, 54 years, of Callahan, FL, and formerly of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on October 22, 2008, in his home after battling cancer for the past 31/2 years. He was born on August 9, 1954, to Richard and June (Nolthen) Jones of Oregon, Ohio, who survive him. Garry enjoyed the simple things in life. He worked for USF Glen Moore as a truck driver. When not on the road, he loved walking his dogs Chloe and Beethoven on the beach, playing with his birds, Paco, Clyde, Piglet, Sweet Pea and Melvin, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a 1975 graduate of Clay High School. Those who have gone on before him are sister, Carrie; sister-in-law, Betty Kerst, and father-in-law, William. Edens Jr. Besides his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Wanda; brothers, Terry (Vicky) Jones, Oregon, Ohio, Larry (Melissa) Jones, Toledo; children, Richard Jones of Maryland, Candace Jager, Toledo, Ohio, Eric Edens, Callahan, FL; mother-in-law, Lucille Edens, also of Callahan; grandchildren, Brittany Ogle, Megan, Ashley and Rebecca Jager, Christian Hartford, Kristofer and Shawn Rose, Stephanie, Stacie, Brandon and Gabrielle Edens, and special niece, Dominique Jones; brother- in-law, William (Debbie) Edens III, Toledo, OH; sisters-in-law, Joy (Butch) Cassidy, Bessemer City, NC, Kathleen (Michael) Thompson, Pflugerville, TX, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, 440 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, Ohio, on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin on Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. and continue on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Perrysburg, Ohio. The family wishes to especially thank his family and friends and all his doctors and nurses who provided care and support to Garry and his family during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Hospice of NE Florida, Acosta-Rua Center, 5450 Ramona Blvd., Jacksonville, FL, or to the charity of their choice. www.egglestonmeinert.com
