Gary Wayne Kazmaier

May 21, 1952 - March 22, 2024

Gary Wayne Kazmaier, age 71, of Monclova, passed away March 22, 2024, at his home. For his departure, he was surrounded by his loving family.

Gary was born May 21, 1952, in Toledo, to Roland and Darlene (Shultz) Kazmaier. He graduated from Bowsher High School in 1971, then served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1971-1975. Gary went on to work at Daimler Chrysler as a mechanic supervisor where he retired from in 2006.

After retirement, Gary was an avid volunteer for the American Red Cross for many years. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and his most favorite thing was enjoying his time with his favorite grandchild, Kaden Jaymes. Gary was preceded in death by his loving parents, Roland and Darlene.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 15 years, Gloria Kazmaier; sister, Linda (Tom) Stanar; daughter, Tiffney (Jason) Alvarado; son, Mark Kazmaier (Heidi); stepchildren, Mike (Makenzy), Angela (Marc); and seven loving grandchildren; Jaidyn, Karter, Meeya, Kaden, Mic, Matthew, and Madelyn; loving mother to Gary's grandsons, Destiny; nieces, Lori Perrow and Kelly Benton; great-nieces and nephew.

The family will be holding private services soon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations to be made in Gary's name to the Cleveland Hope Lodge or the American Cancer Society.

Gary and I served in the Coast Guard together in Kenosha. I remember Gary's sharp Mustang and great sense of humor. I am sorry for your loss. Thanks for posting the picture, Nick.

I have only known Mr. Kazmaier for a few years-- as the loving and devoted grandfather to one of the students at our school. His relationship with the young boy was endearing and according to him, Grandpa was his "best buddy". So sweet. Thankful for the way he poured into this sweet boy.

As a librarian at the Waterville Library, it always brought me a smile when Gary and Kaden came to visit! Their bond was truly special to witness.

Gary lived across the street from me while we were growing up and all the kids in the neighborhood played together, of course until the street lights came on. Gary was a nice guy and I never even heard him yell at anybody. He was just part of our gang running around and having a good time. I know he had his health issues and truly believe that now he is free. Rest in peace old friend.
