Gene O.

Gene O. Krantz, 88 of Oregon, Ohio passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015, in St. Charles Hospital. Mr. Krantz was born on September 22, 192,7 in Toledo, Ohio to Otto and Eleanor (Nitz) Krantz. Mr. Krantz was an Army Veteran of WWII. He had a great love for music and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing his whole life long. He was a member of the VFW and had many friends there.

Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Krantz. Gene is survived by his daughter, Susan Krotzer and husband Hal; 2 grandchildren, Ty and Jessie and 6 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at the WWII memorial in Raleigh, NC with his immediate family. Arrangements by the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd at Byrne Road. Please view and sign Gene's condolence page at

Gene was a great friend of my grandmother and grandfather Shirley and Frank thomson I remember being a kid and having him show me things on guitar, it paid off ole bud hope you looking down on us all.

Gene use to play with my Dad at Wolfs Gardens for many years have always enjoyed going and seeing Helen and listing to them play, for a 2 guy band they were great,, many fond memories

Gene was my first boss when I started at Grainger. Tough but fair. Totally different guy outside of work. I used to enjoy seeing him play at Wolff's Gardens. Good memories. Condolences to his family.
