George Campbell Obituary
1940-2022
Reverend George Campbell was 81 years old when he peacefully passed away, holding his wife's hand, on April 16, 2022, in Perrysburg, Ohio.
He was a pastor in the United Methodist Church and served in six different districts of the West Ohio Conference, including a term as District Superintendent. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religion from Ohio Northern University in 1965, and both a Masters of Divinity and a Masters of Fine Art from Methodist Theological School in Ohio. He also studied in Israel and Egypt. He was the 13th of 18 children born to Leroy and Alma Campbell, born on April 18, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Martha Gene Campbell. They have two children together, Scott Campbell (spouse Alicia Campbell) and Teresa Brenner; and two grandchildren, Will Brenner (fiancée Emily Eckel) and Grace Brenner. Visitations will be held in the lobby of Epworth United Methodist Church, Toledo, OH, at 11:30 a.m. Saturday April 23rd, followed by a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. The family requests gifts to Epworth United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
