George Drewyor

May 16, 1925 - January 6, 2022

Passed away peacefully at home Thursday, Jan 6, 2022. Born May 16, 1925 to Mary & Arthur. Graduated from Central Catholic High School 1943, was drafted, became a Navy Seabee in WWII.

Upon his return he met and married the love of his life Darlene (Reissig). After being an iron worker in Local 55 he went into sales for Premier Industrial Corp.

He was a long term member of the Stamp Collector's Club of Toledo. Mr. "D" also coached pee-wee baseball for many years in the 60s.

With broad shoulders and firm handshake he was larger than life to his family instilling the value of hard work and the love for family and friends.

Surviving are six of his children, Greg, Tim (Teri), Denise (Roger) Hawkins, George (Margaret), Tom, Kim (Wade) Hampton; brother ,Art (Glenda); 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many, many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by wife Darlene; infant daughter, Janice.

In lieu of flowers, please consider Cherry St. Mission.

Arrangements by Newcomer Funeral Home, 3655 King Rd. Visitation Wednesday, January 12 from 2-8 p.m. Services Thursday, January 13 at 11 a.m.

So sorry for the Drewyor's family loss. Uncle George was a legend and very loved man. He will surely be missed by many. Derby days will never be the same. I can't help think about all the great times gathered around their kitchen table! I hope heaven has a big table! Love and Hugs!
