George LIMES Obituary

LIMES George Frederick George Frederick Limes Sr., 84, of Grand Rapids, Ohio, passed away, August 23, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. George was born in VanWert, Ohio to the late Earl and Edna (Adams) Limes. He married the love of his life, Pauline (Kaetzel) Lime on August 20, 1949, and she survives. George is also survived by two daughters, Patricia (Scott) Breece of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Paula (Ray) Thomas of Grand Rapids, Ohio; a sister, Leotta Ballard and one brother, Howard Limes of Haskins, Ohio; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his son, George Limes Jr.; one sister, Jessie Glass; and two brothers, Ernest and Darwin Limes. George, along with Wilbur Box, in 1976 opened L-B Electric in Grand Rapids. A few years later George brought his son, George Jr. and son-in law, Ray on board and made L-B Electric a family business. George was also a former Township Trustee for the Grand Rapids Township and also served as a Volunteer Firefighter for the Grand Rapids Fire Department. George was a member of the American Legion Post #888. He was also a Mason member of the F & AM of Ohio Lodge #0289 in Grand Rapids and the Eastern Star Trivore Chapter # 344. When not working, George loved watching Nascar and Sprint Car Racing. He also loved fishing and hunting, but most of all, George was a true family man and his pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends and Family will be received on Thursday, August 25, 2011 from 2:00 -4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a Masonic Service beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Wright-Habegger Funeral Home, 24084 West 2nd Street, Grand Rapids, Ohio 43522, Tele: 419-832-2511. Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wright - Habegger Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Beavercreek Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Ohio. The family would like to thank Bridge Hospice for their support, compassion and care. Memorial contributions may be made in George's memory to either Calvary United Methodist Church or Bridge Hospice.
