Gerald was a buck sergeant when I knew him in 1960-1962. We were NCOs on the USS Boxer LPH-4. I always enjoyed his company and his visits to our home in Norfolk. He was a little angel of a man. He used to call my wife "mother". I have wonderful memories of him. We met Martha and the kids in Quantico once. So sorry for your loss.

Dad, I tell everyone how you taught me that no matter how little you have you still have something to give, whether a smile, a kind word, or a listening ear. I COULD REALLY USE A HUG RIGHT NOW. I have been telling veterans and their families about going on line to VETERANSBOUNUS.OHIO.GOV or whatever state they are from no abbreviations on the state to get their bonus, us tax payers from their home state voted to give them. I have been telling retirees from the military about the special military rate they are entitled to through Social Security, when they take their DD214 form in and ask for it. I know you were glad I told you about it. I have helped many people and each time I feel closer to you. I talk about you all the time. I keep the Marine One reunion pictures from 2002 on me almost always, thank you for taking me. You inspire people to be better and your legacy lives on through all of us as we try to live up to the people you taught us to be. I wish you were here to pray with me. I miss you more than words can say. James is home and doing well, Brad became a Marine and delayed his entry into the Marine Core to run the Marine Core Marrathon in 2007 Caroline and Amanda came, he finished it in the first 4 hours. He gave mom his medal, it is with all of yours he ran it in your honor. The entire Wagner family came to Brad's graduation from the Core and we got first rate seating thanks to your service with Marine One it felt like you were there with us. Symantha joined the Airforce, We were all there for that graduation ( I bet you did not see that one coming). She met an Airman, I think you would approve. Alyana is back in our life. I bought a house for mom to stay in when she is in Toledo, next door to me. I hope you truly knew how wonderful you were, I know you knew we all loved you. You were extraodinary. Your very proud daughter Renee Ford

Dear Grandpa =] I wrote on here 4 years ago saying that i hope I could make you proud of me in the future. I am glad to say i think I have, I just wish you were here in person to see everything I have done. I know you would be proud and grandma tells me everytime i talk to her how happy you would be with me. I'm finishing school to be a doctor, I joined the airforce, and I am involved in the community. But I wouldn't be half the person I am without your example in my life. It makes me sad to know that when I have kids they will have to wait until the next life to meet you and they won't have any memories of you like I do. We really had alot of good times, I laugh when I look at those pictures and family videos and can't help but think about how disfunctional our family is. But I love it and wouldn't trade it for the world...And sorry i didn't play my violin at your grave like I do every memorial day but im stationed in mississippi...but i sat down on my bed and played the air violin for you =]

Not a day goes by that we are not missing you though. There are reminders of you EVERYWHERE. You are so loved and appreciated. Worda can't even express what our hearts feel.

Today is Mom's Birthday and she really wishes you were here. She got a haircut and new style. Plus she got her hair colored today. She said she wished you could have been here to see it and to spend time with us.
We all miss you so much. We have cried alot lately.
I don't think you ever realized just how important you are to so many people. We miss everything about you. We try to just remind ourselves of all the good stuff everytime we start to get sad.
This sure does get hard at times though. You are a wonderful man and the worlds best Daddy and I miss you EVERY day. We love you forever and always.
We will see you again someday.

Love,
Caroline and Family

Everytime I went up to serve I started thinking of you but I dont know what was wrong because everytime I did it hurt but then I thought about how everytime I saw you,you always put a smile to my face then when I thought about how much I love you I started being happy again. We didnt win but the next time I play its going to be for you, and I'll make sure I win.I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART FOR EVER AND ALWAYS=)

Heres a poem I wrote thinking of you Gpa
It hurts so bad
to know they're gone
you feel so sad
when you're alone
you wish somehow
theyd be with you
and all the things
that you could do
you wish you could
bring back their smile
at least for a little bit
just for awhile
to be held tight
inside their arms to feel so safe and feel their charm
to feel so loved by someone you know but will he come back? the answers no

but he will always be watching over us and he will aiways be in our hearts forever and always until we get to heaven and see is face again

Caroline, Sis. Bollinger & family,
I count myself blessed to have known Bro. Bollinger. I will always remember that big smile and his dedication to St. Jude. Just his mere presence could put a smile on your face and his sense of humor could leave one in stitches. Above all, he loved the Lord. I will always cherish the time that I knew him. I pray that the Lord in His mercy will continue to give you comfort. God bless.
Love you all,
Sis. "G"
