My deepest sympathies to Jerry's family. I played ball with Jerry in high school and coached with Jerry in the Sylvania Youth Baseball Leagues. One of the great ones, as a human being and a friend.

We are truly sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Fletcher. He was a wonderful, a very caring man, he was just a special man. He will be a man that I will never forget. I am glad to have had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be remembered in our hearts and in our memories.

My deepest sympathies extend to Mona and to the family of my old friend. In our "glory days," Jerry pitched and I caught our way to the Lucas County baseball championship of the 13-16 year-olds in 1955 and to many other great memories thereafter. More importantly, though, was the steady and decent man into whom Jerry Fletcher grew and who served as a model for the rest of us and those beyond. We are lessened with his passing, but we are better because he walked among us. Jim Young
