Geraldine Danyko Obituary

DANYKO

Geraldine

Geraldine (Gerry) Danyko, age 94, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2013, at Otterbein under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was married for 69 years to Andy Danyko, who preceded her in death.

As a young woman, she graduated from Notre Dame Academy and Davis Business College. Formerly, she was an active member of the Catholic Business Girls' Club. Prior to her marriage, Gerry worked for Willys Overland Jeep as secretary to a

research engineer during World War II. She met her husband while both were employed at Tiedtke's, in downtown Toledo.

In Point Place, Gerry and her husband raised four

children, while being active members of St. John's Parish. For many years she volunteered at Riverside Hospital. Later she became a member of St. Patrick's of Heatherdowns Parish. There she was involved with the activities of the Over 55 Club. She loved traveling both nationally and to foreign countries. Music and dancing were a passion and the hidden language of her soul.

With her, Gerry takes the love, prayers, and gratitude of her beloved sister, Rosemary Bohnsack, and her four children, Carlene (Phil) Holst, Doug (Penny) Danyko, Mike (Lida) Danyko, and Lynn (Mark) Wagner. Also, she is survived by her grandchildren, Michele Lewis, Joshua (Marcia) Holst, James Holst, Lindsay Wagner, Sara (Chas) Harvick, Brian (Vanessa) Wagner, Kevin Danyko, and Heather Danyko; along with four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home; 1770 S Reynolds Rd. on Sunday, September 29, 2013, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. where a vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m.

Both your parents were great!!! I am sorry for your loss. There joy was always in their children. I remember you beingm such a great leader on the 1974 track team at CCHS with Rhonda and how your mom and dad were so proud of you.
