Gordon, even tho it has been seven years since I have seen you, I still felt close to you. The last time I talked with you, you were helping me with my toilet problems, even tho I live in Arizona. Again, always there to help someone. I can always see that little grin tho when talking to you on the phone. Tho Krystal and Kelly were not lucky enough to live there and know you better, they knew you thru Robin and me. You could be a goofball at times, that really shows in your pictures and a wonderful husband and father. I know you would give the shirt off your back for someone. Not many people would do that. Thanks for always being there for my sister and Vanessa. I only wish me and my girls could have spent more time with all of you. We will be there for Robin and Vanessa. Tho you left this world so young, you left a huge hole in so many lives, which says a lot about you. You touched so many people. I love you and will truly miss you. For Robin and Vanessa, a little comfort that Jesus knows and shares your grief today. But as he promised, we will see Him again in the place He's preparing for us. In heaven, our grief will end. "God will wipe away every tear from our eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying." Until then, know that God weeps with you. He knows our burdens and our crosses, Those things that hurt, our trials and losses, He cares for every soul that cries, God wipes the tears from weeping eyes. I love you, your sister Jackie

Gordon... I know its been almost a year sense I've seen you, due to me moving to Arizona. However I never thought in a million years that the last time I'd seen you, would actually be the very last time, and the last time I spoke to you was when I called you and asked you,"how do I make a turkey?" As always you chuckled at me, but always taught me how to prepare a meal. Thank you!!!
It still hard to believe your gone, I know you weren't superman, but you were very close. It seemed like nothing could bring you down.
I just want you to know that 1st yr. token you gave me is very special to me and I keep close to me.
I hurt for Robin and Nessa, but the one thing that really hurts is after 20+ yrs. Robin would still get so excited when she would see you pull up from work at the end of the day. You put a big smile on her face.
Growing up; I spent alot of time with you and Robin, and it was nice spending time with you two, I had alot of fun.
You were a wonderful humanitarian, who would do anything to help out anyone. You were very blessed because not only did you have your family that loved you, but you also gained another family...THE WINGS OF CHANGE... they are some amazing people who cared very deeply for you and who are always watching over Robin and Nessa.
Gordon you were very muched loved and will be sadly missed.
I love & miss you...your niece

To Aunt Robin and Vanessa,

I really dont know what to say. I know the pain and the hurt is still in your hearts, as it is in all of ours. We all loved Uncle Gordon and will miss him deeply. All of us are here for you both. I read this poem and as I was reading it I could hear his voice.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

LOVE ALWAYS AND FOREVER

Hey my love,
I felt that poem fit you. Ive heard God only takes the best, I now know this is true. He's taken the best thing that ever happened to me. From the moment we met, you've always tried to give me the best. Somehow, you always found a way. Thank you for the best times of my life. You've been an amazing husband, father & friend. Vanessa & I miss you dearly. We have a lot of support from the Wings of Change family. I couldnt have made it this far without them. Rest peacefully my love. Heaven knows you desearve it. Words can't express the shock and sadness in reading of Gordy's passing. Gordy and Tina lived 2 doors from us and he was a childhood boyfriend of our daughter Cindy. Gordy was always a polite young man my husband and myself enjoyed him being around. I have pictures I took back then of the kids and found memories of times they shared.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Shepard family. God be with each of you.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Gordon you will be dearly missed. You have touched me and my family in a way that is almost heavenly. You have help to change a man and his stance in life and that is a truly godly act. Because of you I am a better man and my family is full of more love and devotion, thank you and keep on eye on use from above, I know you will.
