Harry Bodie Obituary
July 9, 1940 - June 2, 2025
Harry J. Bodie, age 84, of Toledo, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Harry was born July 9, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio, to John and Ann (Curtin) Bodie. After graduating from Central Catholic High School, he served his country in the U.S. Army. Harry became a pipefitter and nuclear certified welder at Toledo Edison, where he worked for over 30 years.
A former Commodore with the Jolly Roger Sailing Club, Harry felt at peace on the water and enjoyed boating and fishing. When he was not boating or fishing, he was likely rooting for The Ohio State Buckeyes. Harry was very creative with his welding and had produced quite a few beautiful artistic copper wire creations. He was involved in the Boy Scouts and Indian Guides when his kids were younger. A lifelong Catholic, Harry attended church at St. John's in Point Place and was currently a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie, MI, where he was very involved with the Altar Rosary Society and the Knights of Columbus.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy; parents; and siblings, Patricia (Gus) Nelson, Mary Bodie and Dr. John Bodie. He is survived by his fiancé, Carol Bomia; children, Michael (Kim) Bodie, Jeffrey Bodie and Janet (Emanuel) Kallins; sister, Dorothy Schwanbeck; brother, Frank (Sue) Bodie; and sister-in-law, Margaret Bodie; grandchildren, Michael Jr. (Kelsey), Matthew (Agata), Timothy (Hilary) and Kenneth (Meghan) Bodie, Ryan (Milenna) Block and Brent, Lucy and Jack Bodie. Also surviving are 8 great-grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends in the Urbanski Funeral Home, a Life Celebration Home, 5055 Secor Rd, Toledo, Ohio, on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with the Rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2214 Manhattan St, Erie, MI 48133, from 11:30 a.m. until the Funeral Mass begins at 12:00 p.m., with Fr. Louis Lapeyre officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery will be private.
The family prefers contributions be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Erie, MI.

Sorry to the Bodie family on the news of your dad's passing. Both your mom and dad along with my parents (Jeannette & Bob) Badhorn had such good times together.
