Helen Mae Blake

Helen Mae Blake, age 83, of Toledo, OH, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2005, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The daughter of Gus and Temple (Myrice) Gerdeman, she was born on October 29, 1921, in Deshler, Ohio. Helen was employed by the A & P Company for many years as the bakery manager and cashier. She was a member of Fort Industry Chapter of OES, Zion United Methodist Church, and the Toledo Yacht Club. She was also co-founder of Poppy Seed Garden Club.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Richard. She is survived by her children, Becky (Barry) Vincent, Kathy Kanipe, and Bill (Sharyn) Blake; grandchildren, Steve (Jane Anne) Grindle, Ron (Summer) Grindle, Rob Grindle, Carrie (Kevin Brown) Kanipe, Josh Kanipe, Ellie Kanipe, Mike (Karen) Delp, Rick (Haley) Blake; great-grandchildren, Suzette and Michael Grindle, Kennedy Shaw, Aprii and Errin Reaume, Carmen Brown, Amanda, Morgan and Joseph Delp; sister, Dixie Lee Kleparek and brother-in-law, Zigmund Kleparek.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m. with Fort Industry Chapter #391 OES services at 7:30 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., west of Corey Rd., where services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
