Hubert P. "Paul"
Hubert P. Cline "Paul", 75 of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 25, 2013, in Herrin, IL. He was born in Sylvania on September 24, 1937, to Raymond and Viola (Buckle) Cline and was a graduate of Burnham High School. He was a machinist with Dana Corporation for 32 years. Paul took great pride in his strong work ethic and taught this to his children well. He served in the National Guard and was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Maumee, OH. Paul also coached hockey for a period of time in Sylvania while his sons played and was an active member in the Sylvania Southview Band Boosters. He also volunteered for the Junior Achievement in the Toledo area. In his spare time, he was a skilled craftsman building home additions and garages. Paul enjoyed traveling, listening to country-gospel music, hunting, and fishing. He spent the last three years of his life in Bandera, TX and prior to that in Victoria, TX where he made many friends in both places. Paul had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh or smile.
He is survived by his children, David (Cathy) Cline, of Toledo, OH, Thomas Cline, of Holland, OH and Michelle (Aaron) Szymanski, of San Marcos, TX; sister, Nancy Andrews of Tampa, FL; brother, Fredrick (Sandy) Cline, of Toledo, OH; grandchildren, Jacob Cline, Toledo, OH, Keegan and Brady Szymanski, of San Marcos, TX; as well as nieces and a nephew and extended family. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Calista Ann (Siniff) Cline, and parents. A special thank you to the Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin for their loving care and support. Also thank you to Reeb Funeral Home for all of the arrangements.
Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, OH, Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. where Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, July 1, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Those planning an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers are asked to consider the American Diabetes Association or Junior Achievement, 2239 Cheyenne Blvd., Toledo, OH 43614.

Dave, Tom and Michelle, Sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad. When I read the obit, A flood of warm memories of Mr. Cline came to mind:) My first memories of Tam'o Shanter were of your dad... he was building the bleachers. Months later, he was my hockey coach- a very positive one at that! He was passionate about the game and instilled the same in his players. I living a door down from the Torgerson's, witnessed daily him building the addition onto their house. Haa he was before his time because that was definitely reality TV at its best.. the one liners that so easily flowed off his tongue were priceless. What i remember most, though, was his encouraging words always wanting the best for me... I see the picture in the obit and that's not who I remember.. I see the guy who worked a shift at Dana came home to his family, ate some dinner, you guys were always the first to eat dinner in the neighborhood, and then got busy in the garage or helping someone else with a project. Hugs to you all and i will forever have fond memories of the ol' man :)

David, Tom and Michelle. I can not begin to tell you how sad we were to hear of his death. I am so glad that we got to talk to him in January . I was always a fun time (and a few sad times) when we were together. He was a wonderful friend and relative. Sorry that we can not be at the services, but will be thinking of you with love in our hearts for you. Jim and Pat Wyrick and family.
