Irene
Irene Carroll, 84, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully in Hospice of Toledo, Ohio on Monday, August 17, 2015. Mother Irene Carroll was born in Vardaman, Mississippi February 13, 1931, to William Pearson and Dillie Bell Spencer. Irene was a faithful employee of Maumee Country Day for 19 years and retired from Rumpf Nursing Care Services. In addition, she cooked for many families and was the head Lobo restaurant. Irene will always be remembered for her ability to make each and every person feel special, her acts of kindness, and her sense of humor and love of telling a good story about old times. Now she begins her final journey with God.
Surviving is her daughter, Freda Robert (Freddie Mae Stovall-Wade); grandchildren, Frankie Swain Sr. (Christine), Antuane Swain (Marsha), Douglas Jones Sr. (Amy), Dr. James M. Jones and sister, Ida Mae Pearson-Conley.
Wake and funeral services will be held Saturday, August 22, at Greater St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church on 416 Belmont Ave. in Toledo, Ohio with the wake starting at 10 a.m. and the funeral at 11 a.m.
