Miss Poletes was my principal at Hawkins Elementary (6th grade class of 1984). She was such a kind and very elegant lady and principal during the years I was there. Then in early nineties, when I was receptionist at Lake Park, I got to know Miss Poletes (from a personal level),her sister Stella by visting their Aunt Faye. During my employment there Miss Poletes was very encouraging while I was attending college and working at the same time (Thank You!!). She will be VERY miss and our thoughts, prayers are with the Poletes Family.

A lovely, gracious lady. We will miss Irene's beautiful smile and warm conversation when she visited Bill's family in Texas.
May her memory be eternal,

Irene was a kind and very elegant lady. Her loving care for her sister was an inspiration. We pray that Stella will be comforted along with the many people who will miss Irene.

Miss Poletes was my supervisor when I first started teaching in 1967. She was always fair and helpful during the time I spend under her supervision. My wife and I used to attend the Greek American Festival so that I could see and talk to her. We saw her last about three or four years ago, and she was still so delightful. Even though it has been forty-five years since our first meeting, I will always remember her kindness. The Greek American Festival will never be the same for me!
She will be missed!

Our deepest sympathy to the Poletes family on the passing of Irene. She was such a caring person to her sister Stella as well as countless students over her many years in education. What a tremendous legacy to leave behind. She was such a dear friend to so many including our family for so many years. Her passing leaves a huge void that will never be filled. We have been honored to have known her. May her memory be eternal.
