Jacob Thomas Belsky
Jacob Thomas Belsky, 29, of Genoa, OH, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and hard work. Jake was born on September 16, 1995, in Oregon, Ohio, to Jennifer (Johnson) Belsky-Bain and Alan Belsky.
A gifted heavy equipment mechanic, diesel technician, and service engineer, Jake had a rare talent for working with his hands. Whether it was a tricky engine or a backyard project, if it was broken, he could fix it. He had an unmatched ability to build, repair, and restore.
But more than his skill or trade, Jake will be remembered for the way he lived his life, with devotion, humor, and an open heart. He cherished time with his children, finding joy in teaching them everything he could, cheering them on at their sporting events, taking them camping, and simply being there for every moment that mattered.
Jake also found deep joy in the company of his siblings and friends, always up for a laugh, a meal, or a night out together. He loved stopping by his mom's house just to chat and share his day. He was a doer, building a business of his own, pouring his heart into his work, and never shying away from a challenge.
A true dog lover, Jake always had his dog, Diesel, close to his side.
He is survived by his beloved children, Kennedy and Parker Belsky, and their mother, Haley Plantz; his mother, Jennifer (Mike) Belsky Bain; sisters, Allison (Eric) and Rachel (Kyle) Johnson; and his twin brother, Jonathan (Jess) Belsky; and countless friends who became like family.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Patricia Johnson; and his father, Alan Belsky.
Jake's absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but his memory lives on in the moments he shared with his loved ones, the laughter he brought to our lives, and the countless things he built. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, located at 1111 Woodville Rd. (east of I-280), where a Celebration of Life will begin at 3:00 p.m. All who knew and loved Jake are welcome to attend and share in remembering him.
Flowers are welcome and may be sent to the funeral home. Donations can also be made to a GoFundMe campaign established to support the future of Jakes's two daughters, Kennedy and Parker. All funds raised will be placed into a trust to assist with their care and education or provided directly for any immediate expenses. Contributions can be made at
