I worked for Jim at Armada Corp. and was a helicopter pilot that flew him on some business ventures. He & I would start joking and by time we were done, we were both laughing so hard, we'd be crying. So sad I lost contact. I tried to find him when I went to work flying a Police Helicopter, but to no avail. I just read his Obit today & everything that was said about him is true. The man was a Legend, in my eyes. He will be miss by all. God Bless Phyliss & their Family!!

I received Jim's obituary to day on my email. Hard to believe it's been 9 years since his passing. I still have fond memories of working for Jim. He was really a good boss at AP Parts. He always seemed easy going and steady, never getting too upset. His family has my sympathy.

Dear Phyllis & Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. My name is Adrienne Washington Fulwider and I worked with Jim and Phyllis many years ago at Pace Setter. I ordered a pizza last night at Dominos and immediately thought of how Phyllis would always order the 12 inch extravaganza with xtra cheese. I decided to look you up after having fond memories of the both of you and saw the obituary. I am saddened! I will never forget how much you both made me feel like family. I loved to hear about your family (Brian & Delray?? and your first grandchild). I had to leave Pace Setter to attend college in Sacramento. I'm still here married with 2 boys. Phyllis, I would love to talk with you sometime. Please call me.

Aunt Phyllis and Family,

We share in your loss of Uncle Jim. I have such fond memories of our families getting together on the houseboat at Dale Hollow, it was truly a treasured time.
I will miss Uncle Jim, he had a way of making people feel good about themselves. I'll always remember how his warmth and compassion would light up a room. To you and the rest of your family, we are right there with you. We love you all and will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

A. Phyllis and all my cousins, my heart goes out to all of you for the loss of a most wonderful man. I will hold in my heart all of the wonderful memories we shared on the houseboat in Dale Hollow Dock, TN, the MANY hats that you, U. Jim, dad and mom embarrassed us with, the parties, get togethers, etc. What cherished and special moments they were. They were some of the best. U. Jim will be missed greatly, but God promises that one day we will all be reunited. I'm sure U. Jim, A. Phyllis Irene and dad are having a reunion of all reunions right now. A. Phyllis is probably doing the cooking, U. Jim providing the entertainment and dad overseeing them. May U. Jim's pain and suffering which has been taken away from him, be a part of what sees you through the hard times ahead. He is at peace and in a most Glorious of places. Our love, hugs and prayers.

Our love and prayers go out to the Flatt families. We wish we had the words to comfort you in your time of need. Know that you are loved and thought of all the time, hope you are all staying strong.

Uncle Jim, where does one start...a hug, kiss, smile, prank, smirk or robust comment--that was him! He lit up any room he entered with love and laughter. God has called so many of our loved ones lately and it must be that there is one fabulous party planned. God certainly knows what He is doing; He's got the best of the best to help Him with the festivities! One day we will all find out when we meet again. Until then, they live on in our hearts--their spirits guiding us all the way!

Aunt Phyllis and my cousins...I can't express how sad I am for you. Uncle Jim is part of my many, fond, childhood memories. He was always cracking jokes, and pushing the dining room table aside so we could all dance and twist to Elvis music and his laughter was infectious. I am glad that I got to be a part of his life. He is probably up there rock n rollin with Bill! Aunt Phyllis, I know you had a long journey with taking care of him, and he now rests in peace, pain free, you can have peace within, knowing you did everything you could for him because of your love for each other. I know only to well one of the hardest things in life is trying to help them live and watching them suffer. Learning to live without him is going to be challenging, and I havent figured that one out yet, but knowing he is in peace now will help calm your hearts. All my love and prayers to all of you.

Aunt Phyllis & family,
Uncle Jim will always live on in our memories and heart. He was such a fun loving vibrant individual. I will never forget all the 4th of July parties, visiting in each other homes, with water fights and just hanging out enjoying each other company. Those were the best of times, simple but full of love and relaxation. Miss you all and praying for the peace that passing all understanding and strength to get you through this difficult time. I look forward to the time when we all meet again. What a party that will be with all of our loved ones that have passed before us. Wish we could be there with all of you! Take Care. All our love,

To the Flatt family:
I remember working with Jim at AP Parts years ago. He was my boss, and a practical joker. I remember he would always be passing out cigars, but never a King Edward. I have fond memories of Jim. Rest in peace.

I have so many happy memories of Jim and all the Flatt family. I remember spending our honeymoon at their home in Temperence...we just stopped to visit and we were so welcomed and happy there that we stayed and didn't reach our destination of Niagra Falls.
All of our time and trips together as families are very happy memories and I would love to do it all again.
My love to Phyllis and the whole family and just know that this is just a temporary separation. Can you imagine the reunion that the two Jims have already had and Phyllis Irene too.
God's blessings and peace to your family.

Uncle Jim was always the life of the party! Without him you just had a get-together, not a PARTY! Water fights, pool parties, pranks, and jokes are all part of our treasured memories because of Uncle Jim. Unlce Jim will be missed dearly, but never forgotten. God has called home so many of our loved ones recently he must have something spectacular planned. We are sorry we cannot be there with you, but all of you will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
