James GILMER Obituary

GILMER James Luther James Luther Gilmer, 85, went home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2010, surrounded by family and friends. James was born May 1, 1925, to Willie and Artie Misha Gilmer, being the last born of 12 children, whom all preceded him in death, including his son, Raymond Burgess and daughter, Vickie L. Coffie. James was a WWII veteran being honorably discharged in 1946. He retired from Midland-Ross Unicast, after working there 28 years. He is survived by his wife of nearly 48 years, Phyllis (Dianna); sons, Jessie (Darlene) Gilmer, James Coffie, Derrick and Kenneth (Valerie) Gilmer; daughters, Casandra Coffie, Cynthia McWilliams, Gina Eaton and Felicia Gilmer-Cox; 31 grandchildren; 32 great-grand children, two of which he raised from birth, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be Friday, July 16, 2010, 11:00am at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. Wake services will be Thursday from 5-7pm at The House of Day. www.houseofday.com
