James Pomeroy Obituary
10/17/1978 - 03/16/2023
James M. Pomeroy, 44, of Gwinn, MI, died Thursday morning, March 16, 2023 at his home.
He was born October 17, 1978 in Toledo, Ohio, a son of James H. and Linda D. (Klement) Pomeroy. He was a 1997 graduate of Rogers High School in Toledo. He attended Bay College and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Fraternity before transferring to NMU. He ultimately earned a Bachelor's and a Master's degree from Colorado Technical University.
James worked at various restaurants over the years including Schmucker's Restaurant in Toledo and Jeffrey's Restaurant in Marquette.
His interests included collecting sports cards, comic books and he was into watching and collecting movies.
James is survived by his parents, James and Linda Pomeroy of Gwinn; sister, Rachael (Michael) Pomeroy-Brooks of Gwinn; and nephews, Gavin Pomeroy and Thurston Brooks. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Thorin Brooks.
A memorial service will be held at the Silver Creek Church at 12 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023 with Pastor Kevon Taylor officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church.
