James T. Simpson

James T. Simpson, 90, of Perrysburg, OH, and longtime resident of Waterville, OH, passed away August 25, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born January 31, 1931, in Waterville, OH, to Forest and Iva (Dorman) Simpson. Jim worked as an insurance salesman for Blue Cross. He loved his job and treasured the many friends he encountered there. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps aboard the USS Midway.

He was an active member of Waterville United Methodist Church, where he served on many committees, He was a member of the Waterville American Legion. He was very active in scouting and was the Scoutmaster of Waterville Boy Scout Troop #101 for many years . He earned the Boy Scout Silver Beaver Award. He was named a Waterville Citizen of the Year . He coached little league Baseball in the community as well as playing on the church softball league.

He married Marilyn (Shepler) on July 20, 1952, she survives; along with children, James (Jan) Simpson, Michael Simpson, Sue (Ray) Millenbaugh and Mary (Randy) Breymaier; grandchildren, Ryan (Yusra) Millenbaugh, Lindsey Millenbaugh, Kyle (Kasey) Breymaier, Jenni (Zach) Bollinger, Katherine Jo Simpson, and James Michael (Kellie) Simpson; and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don; and sister, Rebecca Yawberg.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Kingston Residence of Perrysburg who have become our family ,as well as the caring staff at St Luke's Hospital , and his church family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Waterville United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held Saturday morning at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Wakeman Cemetery.
