Jeff was my next door neighbor when we were very young. He was always passionate about the Civil War even as a kid. We hung out at the North Lake Civil War Cannon display. He grew to be a wonderful father. My prayers for his family

To Aunt Peg, Chris and Bob,
We are so sorry to hear about Jeff. Even though I was very young I remember going to the hotel at Lake Erie and how Jeff would make it fun for me every time I went up there like sneaking me a couple hot cinnamon rolls and letting me go on the tubes in the lake when I was not supposed to according to Aunt Tootsie! Fond remembrances. Just please know our prayers and support are with the family during this difficult time.

To Jeff's family and friends,
I also was a grade school classmate of Jeff's. My memories of Jeff were he was just a 'wild & crazy guy'. Very fun loving. I guess I never really got to see the serious side that he showed. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

I enjoyed many good times with Jeff from 5th through 8th grades at St. Peter's Elementary School, where we were both students. I recall that he was interested then in Marvel comic books (especially the work of Stan Lee), his own drawings, and frightening movies, like those about Frankenstein and Count Dracula. In keeping with that interest, we once took a walk to the “spooky” cemetery to explore the grounds and view the monuments, which I thought was an adventure. He had his own projector at home and a small collection of classic horror films. He was unique among my classmates in many interesting ways.
He was also very thoughtful and at times serious. For instance, he told me of his sadness at the recent death of his beloved pet dog. He asked me if I thought dogs had a soul. Although it was my wish to console him, I could not give an adequate response at that time. I was not accustomed to my elementary-school friends sharing deep feelings.
I feel a bit inadequate now, too. However, I feel that it is important to describe some of this past history, lest it be too little known or even forever lost. I love history and consider it to be precious. From what I read today, I am certain Jeff would agree.
I am sorry about your loss.
