Jerome Joseph
Jerome Joseph Zachman, 85, of Temperance, MI passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016, in The Toledo Hospital. He enjoyed a long career in the remodeling and building industry. The son of Stanley and Mary (Wozniak) Zachman he was born April 12, 1930, in Toledo, OH. Jerome was a 1948 graduate of Macomber High School in Toledo. July 28, 1951, he married his high school sweet heart, Rosemary Poirier and shared more than 55 years together. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Temperance. Jerome was a veteran of both WWII and the Korean War. Jerome was a lifelong member and past president of the Stamp Collectors Club of Toledo. He enjoyed many years as an avid golfer and bowler. His greatest love was his family.
Jerome was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosemary. He is survived by his loving children, Debra (Kenneth) Perry, Janis (John) Howard and Linda Keys; grandchildren, Heather (Chris) Hill, Mindy (Bruce) Welch, Kristen Machcinski, Brian Keys, Sarah (Brian) Foore, Jennifer (Tyler) Stuart, Jessica Howard (fiancé Jonny); 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert, many nieces and nephews, and special family, Marcia Sevrence and Calvin (Maow) Keys.
We will forever be touched by the angels of The Toledo Hospital 7th floor and Emergency Room personnel, including Dr. Bruss, whose loving care of Jerome is forever appreciated.
Visitation will be Monday, January 18, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in Urbanski's Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, MI where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Temperance, where he will lie in state after 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Lambertville VFW #9656.

Missing Jerry and Rose at Stamp Club. His last donation to the club (filled my SUV to the top) was put into an auction where members purchased everything, mostly to have something to remind him of Jerry. He was a consummate collector and never threw anything out (LOL). His donation was, let us say "unique" in that I remember material in Spam cans (it sold) and a giant 2'x2'x4' crate that had a million common US stamps that were all soaked off paper and carefully preserved! Jerry was one of a kind and fun to be around! God Bless!

I am so truly sorry and my thoughts and prayers go out to Jerry's entire family. I just heard about Jerry's passing yesterday. Jerry and I had many good talks and times together. We played in a fun golf league together for some good years and had good times as well. Again so sorry to hear the bad/sad news. I would have been there for the visitation and funeral. Hit them straight Jerry!

I met Jerry in the early 1950s because I was a friend of his brother Bob. The few times I was a guest in his home, he struck me as the most gracious host & the nicest man you could ever meet.
My deepest sympathy goes out to his daughters & their families and brother Bob & his family. He will always be in your hearts & forever in your memories.

Jerry was a friend and mentor to all of us at the Stamp Collectors Club. We have missed his wit and wisdom since he became too ill to make the meetings. My sincere concolences to Deb and Ken and the rest of the family.
