Jerry Dalton Obituary

Jerry W. Dalton

Jerry W. Dalton, age 75, of Maumee, OH, passed away March 10, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family, listening to his favorite golden oldies. He was born January 19, 1951, in Wichita, TX, to Frank and Elizabeth (King) Dalton. Jerry was a very hard worker, and did everything to support his family throughout his life. He retired from a long career as a dock worker at Roadway Express, and after retirement, in order to stay busy, he worked part time at a few places, most notably at Burger King.

Jerry met the love of his life, Pat, when they were in high school, and they were married the month after Pat graduated. This summer would have been their 56th anniversary. They loved to spend time with close friends through the years, and always enjoyed listening to music and having a drink or 2 from time to time.

Jerry loved his family more than anything else on this earth. Some of his favorite times were fishing with the grandkids, or watching them in their various extracurricular activities! He also loved to play card games-specifically Euchre (and now he and Uncle Gary are probably running the table against anyone they can find to play them-as was custom every Christmas Eve). Even with his Dementia (which he battled for 10 years) he was still just so excited to see the grandkids and obsessed over his great-grandson, Benny- carrying around his picture and talking to him daily. The family was so fortunate because unlike many with Dementia who end up being a completely different person, Jerry was never that way-probably because his heart was so big and so full of love for those around him. One of the families most cherished memories was a family trip to Disney in 2009, where the entire family visited every park, stayed at a Disney Resort together, and ate so much food! This was also the 1st time Jerry ever flew and he loved that experience! This was a trip no one would ever forget!

In addition to his parents, Jerry was also preceded in death by his siblings, Al Dalton, Paulette Shamy and Rick Dalton. He is survived by his wife, Patricia "Pat" Dalton; daughter, Carrie Pott; son, Jason (Brooke) Dalton; grandchildren, Matthew (Hannah) Dalton, Taylor Carlozzi, Andrew Carlozzi and Joshua Dalton; and great-grandson, Benjamin Dalton. The family takes comfort in knowing that Jerry is now with his beloved mother who he missed dearly. Grandma Dalton-your boy is coming home.

The family will receive guests Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., at Newcomer- SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., 419-381-1900.
