I babysat John and his sister on Bowen Road and their boxer always supervised. John absolutely hated a bedtime ritual of cleaning his teeth. His dad asked me to personally supervise this bedtime ritual. But these two were the best kids I ever sat for. They were great together as siblings and a close loving family.

To The Friends and Family of John Ayling: it is so amazing how God puts people into your life whether it is short term or long term, the Blessing is what matters. I had the pleasure of assisting John during his later days and I am truly thankful. I now have even a better understanding of him, he and my grandmother shared the same birthday and my mother and her siblings all graduated from DeVilbiss. Our hearts are with you during this loss to earth, but know that John will forever be alive through every life that he touched while on earth. He is now at Everlasting Peace, God Bless!!

My friendship with John goes all the way back to grade school where we were both halfbacks for the DeVeaux Blue Devils. We remained close friends for the rest of our lives. He was a great guy who would do anything for you. I will miss my visits with him when I am back to Toledo. Take care John on your final step of Life. God is with you.

Sorry to hear of John's passing. His family and mine were members of Pilgrim Church. He was an great man and basketball player. We were basketball team mates on some very good teams. Rest in peace in B/B heaven.

I am so sorry to hear of Johns passing. We were friends at the University of Toledo and I enjoyed watching him play basketball in those years. Many times he gave me rides from the Detroit airport to Toledo to see my mother when she was very sick. He was a kind and caring man.

Some of my fondest memories were the pickup basketball games we used to have in the 80s. I was younger and just out of college. Afterwords we word all go to lunch somewhere. Love all of the stories he would tell. He was always respectful to me. He was a great shooter and that didn´t change as he got older. He was a class act. I´m sure John will find a hoop in heaven.

John was a distant friend but a friend nonetheless. One of the best "pure shooters" in Toledo City League basketball history.

I met John in 1981. I was a flight attendant for Liberty Airlines & John was a board member. We had mutual friends and our paths crossed several times over several years. He was a great friend. Hugs to his family.
