John Connell Obituary

CONNELL John Patrick John Patrick Connell, 56, of Toledo, Ohio died peacefully on November 6, 2008, after a brief illness with his loving wife and son at his side. John was born June 18, 1952, to Patricia (Ryan) and James "Jerry" Connell, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Central Catholic High School where he enjoyed playing football. After graduation he worked at Power Train, retiring after 35 years. John was a devoted husband and father whose hobbies included cooking, fishing, and playing golf. Much of his spare time was spent with family and friends and with his devoted dogs. John is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carol and his son, Matthew (Tracey) of Toledo. He is also survived by his brothers, Jim (Chris) of Crozel, Virginia, Joe of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mike (Kim) of Williamsburg, Virginia, Jeff of Toledo; his sister, Mary (Greg) Swisher of Temperance, Michigan; several nieces and nephews and good friends, Terry and Ruth Frederick and Tom and Linda Rerucha. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Toledo Hospital and at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their care and compassion. Family and friends may visit Ansberg West Funeral Home at 3000 West Sylvania, Toledo, Ohio 43613 on Monday, November 10, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. to share in a celebration of his life. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Catherine Church on Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Toledo Humane Society or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. www.ansberg-west.com
