John Groff Obituary

GROFF John C. John C. Groff, age 88, of Toledo, passed away April 26, 2007. Mr. Groff retired as a charter life underwriter many years for Aetna Life Insurance Co. John was a graduate of Haverford College and Cornell University. He was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church serving as senior warden and also choir member. He was a member of the Downtown Exchange Club and was a promoter for the Fifth Third Field through his membership on the Downtown Toledo Community Board. John was preceded in death by his wife, Jane. Surviving are his sons, Thomas (Ann) and Stephen Groff; daughters, Roxanne Groff and Catherine Chadwick; grandchildren, Bryan and Jeffrey Groff, Adam and Matthew Chadwick, and Veronique-Deis Groff. There will be no services or visitation. The family suggest tributes in the form of contri-butions to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Arrangements entrusted to the Boyer-Vanwormer-Scott Funeral Home, 419-473-2805.

John was my mom's (Catherine Mauk Mather) Uncle which means he was my great uncle: I will miss you uncle. Such a sweet and loving man.
