John P. Hunt

John P. Hunt, 89, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.

John was born in Toledo and attended DeVilbiss High School where he ran track. He attended The University of Toledo where he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering and was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and became a professional engineer.

John's career offered him many exciting and interesting assignments as he worked in numerous management positions at Toledo Edison, and additional experiences with diplomatic assignments with The United States Government in Cairo, Egypt.

John found great satisfaction and joy through the opportunities and experiences he had through volunteerism and spending time with his family, friends, and neighbors. He also had many accomplishments including serving the Army, was an Eagle Scout, and a member of IEEE Society. These were the things that he felt were most important throughout his life.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Johnston and Janet Hunt; and his brother, James Hunt. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; son, James (Christine) Hunt; daughter, Elizabeth Polnicky; grandchildren, Aleksandr Polnicky, Lessa Polnicky, Erich Polnicky, Andrew Hunt and Caroline Witt, as well as, one great-grandson, Ezra Polnicky.

The family would ask that any remembrances be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, WGTE, Toledo Seagate Food Bank, or Ohio Living who provided loving care in the last days of his life, especially caretakers Angie, Shenese, and Margarite.
