John T. Krizman

KRIZMAN John T. John T. Krizman, 93, of Toledo, passed away August 30, 2009. Mr. Krizman was born in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from Collinwood High School and attended Kent State University. He worked as a sea­man on the Great Lakes Shipping Vessels for 9 years rising from Deckhand to 3rd Assistant Engineer. During WWII, he served as a reserve officer in the Coast Guard while performing his duties on the Great Lakes. In 1947, he began his career in Cleveland, Ohio with the Standard Oil Company of Ohio. He transferred to the Toledo, Ohio refinery in 1967 where he worked until he retired in 1984. Preceding Mr. Krizman in death were his wife, Margaret J. (Kelly) Krizman of Goetzville, Michigan in June of 2003, and his sister, Mary Jane Dietzel of Cleveland, Ohio in January, 1974. Surviving are his sons, Thomas (Diane) Krizman, Robert (Pamela) Krizman, and daughter, Janet Krizman; grandchildren Jennifer (Brad) Leisinger, Gregory, Brian, Kaitlyn and Courtney Krizman; great-grandchild-ren, Sadie Jane, Joey and Luke Leisinger. The family will receive friends at the Bersticker-Scott Funeral Home, 3453 Heatherdowns Blvd. at Byrne Rd., on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where services will be held Thursday September 3 at 10:30 a.m. Internment Riverside Cemetery, Maumee, Ohio. The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Northwest, Ohio.
