John SYRING Obituary
John R.
John R. Syring, age 55, passed away unexpectedly in his home on February 11, 2017, in Cincinnati where he resided for 27 years. He was born in Toledo, attended Gesu Grade School and St. Francis de Sales High School. He earned a Bachelor's of Science from The Ohio State University College of Allied Medicine and after a brief time working as a radiologic technician at University Hospital, enjoyed a successful career in sales and marketing including working at several major medical device companies. He was employed in sales with Cincinnati Bell at the time of his death. John was a self-taught musician and shared his love of music, especially attending live concerts, and love of travel with family and friends. He frequently traveled to the Caribbean to scuba dive and out west for snow skiing. John was also active in several community organizations and events in the Hyde Park Cincinnati area.
John was preceded in death by his parents, William and Patricia Syring. Survived by siblings, Patrick Syring, Joe Syring, Julia Syring, twin sister Mary (Mitch) Drumm and Paul (Laurie) Syring. Also surviving are his beloved nieces and nephews, Sarah, Joe, Elizabeth, Emily, Katherine, Paul Madden and Brigid; great-nieces, Adeline and Tempest.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Gesu Catholic Church, 2049 Parkside Blvd., Toledo on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. Family will receive guests beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. I was so sorry to hear about his passing. He was a wonderful man and he always had a great big smile on his face.

A short story...John was going to OSU and I was beginning a career in electronics. He asked if I could fix his amp. Although I tried and didn't, he made me feel important. From one Westmoreland brother to another, Dominus Vobiscum !
