John Wooddall

1931-2025

In Loving Memory

John A. Wooddall, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died Thursday, November 13th, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was 94 years old. He lived comfortably in his home with his wife, Rosemary, of 65 years, until one week before his death.

John was born on May 3, 1931. He grew up in South Toledo as an only child and graduated from Libby High School in 1949. He started his career at age 16 in the mailroom of Toledo Trust (now Key Bank). He was promoted many times and ended his tenure with Key when he joined Huntington Bank as a Vice President and Branch Manager of their Colony Office. He loved Huntington and stayed a customer with them long after he retired. At both banks, he trained many young people starting out in their careers and received many notes of appreciation from his superiors and employees on his talents with employees, customers, and running an effective branch.

John was a veteran of the Army. He enlisted in 1951 and served in Alaska as a ski trooper, and later in the Army Reserve until his honorable discharge in 1956. He was known for his love of family. He was also an avid golfer and played weekly with friends into his 80s. He passed on his love of golf to his children and grandchildren. He loved jazz music and table tennis (and he was a very good player in his day). He was also a Pittsburg Steelers fan for life and because of this his family remains avid Steeler fans.

John married the love of his life, Rosemary June Parker, in 1960. They were together until the very end. In his later years, he told everyone how wonderful his wife was. And she is. She cared for John when he could no longer care for himself and made sure his every need was taken care of.

John is survived by his wife, Rosemary; his two children, Brad Wooddall (Randi) and Robin Wooddall Klein (Dan); and seven grandchildren, Grant (Alexia), Will, and Jack Wooddall, and Alexx, Maddie (Lee), Katerina and Katya Klein. They have two great-grandchildren, Gino Wooddall and Reese Birman-Klein.

At John's request, there will be no visitation or funeral. Burial is private, and the family will celebrate his life with wonderful memories of our times together. The family wishes to thank the amazing nurses and aides of Hospice. They managed his care this year both at home and in-patient in his final week. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
