Joseph Pilkington Obituary
March 4, 1934 - October 21, 2024
Joseph Henry Pilkington, age 90, of Perrysburg, Ohio, died on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Kingston Residence of Perrysburg. Joseph was born on March 4, 1934, in Alton, IL, to Lee and Madeline (Wolf) Pilkington. He was raised in Toledo, OH, and graduated from Central Catholic High School and the University of Toledo. He received a law degree from the University of Michigan, and a graduate degree in international law from the University of Paris. He married former Blade staff writer, Ann Elizabeth McAuley, on November 26, 1966, at Saint Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg, OH. Joseph and Ann raised 2 sons, and have celebrated nearly 58 years of marriage together.
Before starting his own practice, Joseph had been affiliated with former law firm of Fuller, Seney, Henry, and Hodge. In 2024 the Ohio State Bar Association recognized Joseph for 65 years of continuous service. He was also an avid tennis player at Belmont Country Club, enjoyed squash at the Toledo Club, and served as president of the Young Republicans Club.
In addition to his wife Ann, Joseph is survived by his sons, Joseph H. Pilkington Jr., James McAuley (Paula) Pilkingto; grandson, James Robert Pilkington; sisters, Mary Hills and Jeanne Oesterrich.
Joseph will be laid to rest at a family committal service in Saint Rose Cemetery, Perrysburg, OH. Officiating will be Fr. Scott Woods.
