I am glad that I found this family at last. Joseph Ryan was a cousin of my mother“s and my grandfather Prendergast. His long life exceeded that of most of his Ryan ancestors, whom you can find on WikiTree.
His Irish Ryan ancestor was a miller who came to Canada after he had brought his family through the Potato Famine. Joseph epitomized the intelligent and well-educated descendants of that Ryan line.
May he rest in eternal peace.

Always enjoyed speaking with Joe after mass at Holy Name. Fall and Winter always had on a tweed sport coat. Dapper Dan!!
