Joseph A. Sherock

Joseph A. Sherock, Jr., 85, of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully at the Gardens of St. Francis on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. Joe was born in Girard, Ohio on August 13, 1937, to Joseph Sr. and Catherine (Acerra) Sherock.

He was a graduate of Girard High School and was married for 51 years to the love of his life, Eleanor (DePascal). Joe worked for the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Berea, Ohio before relocating to Oregon, Ohio in 1977. He accepted a Superintendent position with the City of Oregon Wastewater Treatment Plant where he worked for 20 years.

Joe was a member of the Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Parish, and volunteered his services at the St. Charles Hospital Chapel every Sunday morning for many years.

Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a very humble, giving man and loved to sing and dance to Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra among other greats. Joe was an avid bowler and a dedicated sports fan, especially to his beloved Cleveland Indians. He will be dearly missed by all.

Surviving are his children, Susan Sherock, Joanne Sherock and Anthony (Sherri) Sherock; grandchildren, Nickolas and Sophia Sherock; and sister, Theresa Sherock. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eleanor; brothers, Nick, John, and Frank.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Eggleston Meinert Pavley

Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 6:30 p.m. A memorial Mass and interment will take place in Girard, Ohio at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Joe's memory can donate to St. Jude's Hospital.
