Joshua Siers Obituary

Joshua "Josh" N. Siers

October 9, 1996 - November 21, 2024

Joshua (Josh) Nathaniel Siers, age 28, of Springfield Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2024. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on October 9, 1996, to Malinda and Steve Siers. Josh, the eldest of four siblings, embraced his role as the "Big Brother" with great care. Throughout his childhood, he was known by several endearing nicknames. His parents called him "Bubba Nate," a name his mom called him the last time they spoke. His sisters called him "Big J," and friends often referred to him as "J-Money," while his niece affectionately called him "Uncle K" because she had difficulty pronouncing "J." Josh also had special names for his parents, lovingly calling them "Momma" and "Big D." At 28 years old, Josh still considered his dad his best friend, and often invited his mom over to spend time with him and cuddle.

Josh had a radiant smile that could light up any room, with a personality just as bright. Josh had a generous spirit, always willing to put everything aside to help someone in need, expecting nothing in return. He deeply cherished his family, and took immense pride in being an uncle.

Living by the motto "tomorrow is not promised," Josh embraced life to the fullest. He loved reading Harry Potter and the Guinness Book of World Records, excelled in soccer and basketball, loved fishing, admired LeBron James, and passionately cheered for the Texas Longhorns. He was a lover of all things sports, a master of trivia, loved to workout, and a true enthusiast of all music, especially EDM (Electronic Dance Music). One of his proudest achievements was leading his Pacesetter Soccer Team to win the State Championship in 2014.

Josh is survived by his loving parents, Malinda and Steve Siers; sisters, Keera (Ryan Schiavone), Emma, and Kaleena Siers; his niece, Logan; his soon-to-be-nephew, Noah; his grandfathers, Dennis Siers, Ronald Parkins, and Frank Burrell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Brenda Siers, Doris Parkins, and Beverly Burrell.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, at 11:00 a.m. Family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Food Pantry, or the Pacesetter Scholarship Fund.

Josh you were my best friend throughout middle school and playing soccer for Maumee Express. From playing Halo all night with a massive bowl of skittles, talking sports, and talking about our crushes I loved every second of it. I´ll always cherish those memories and laughs with you. I love you, bro. Fly high always.

Josh and I attended freshman year homecoming together and were friends throughout high school. Josh´s smile and laugh were contagious and he was such an endearing friend.

My dearest sympathy to your family. I pray that you all can find peace and comfort somewhere along the way. We will miss you, Josh!

So sorry to hear about your loss. It is not supposed to be this way. But we don't know God's plan. He was chosen. Joshua was a great student with a personality to match.

He always was the best at timetables, back in elementary at our lady of Lords. I always thought he was the smartest in the class.
