Julia Feltman Obituary

FELTMAN Julia D. (Kwiatkowski) "Busia" Julia Dorothy Feltman, 97, formerly of Loxley Road, Toledo, OH passed away peacefully on August 3, 2006, at Little Sisters of Poor, Sacred Heart Home, Oregon, Ohio where she had been a member of their loving family for two years. Julia's humble, patient and accepting nature, her beautiful smile and sense of humor, the example of her strong Catholic faith, and her unconditional love were her gifts, and she shared them generously all her life. Julia lived an amazing life full of faith and service. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish for 77 years attending Mass and Eucharistic Adoration often. As a member of the Alter and Rosary Society, she cleaned the church sanctuary for years. She sang in the funeral choir and baked for funeral brunches. Until she was 85, Julia and her church friends would visit "the old people" at the Sacred Heart Home monthly, where she should call bingo "because she had the strongest voice." Born on May 13, 1909, Julia was the youngest of 13 children born to John and Kathryn Kwiatkowski. "Aunt Julia" was loved and admired by her large family. Her parents, 9 brothers and 3 sisters preceded her in death. Julia married Wallace (Slats) Feltman in St. Adalbert Church on October 15, 1927. In 1977 there were honored on their 50th anniversary with a special Mass and Polish wedding reception. Slats preceded her in death on October 30, 1981. After the birth of her children, Julia was a dedicated housewife, mother and Busia. Her home and front porch were always a welcome place for family and neighbors. Busia gave unselfish love and created wonderful memories for her family, especially her many dinners with Polish coffeecake, puffball cookies, delicious pies and lemon cheesecake. Julia is survived by her grateful children, William and Bobbie Feltman, Fr. Philip Feltman, St. Mary's Parish, Sandusky, OH, Marcia and Donald Staczek, Cecilia and Charles Sinclair; daughter-in-law, Lucille Feltman, along with 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her oldest son, James, preceded her this past February 4, 2006. Family and friends may visit from 3-9 p.m. Friday, August 4, 2006 at the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Prayers will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2006, from the funeral home, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 4227 Bellevue, Toledo, OH. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Her family is most grateful for the love and care given to Busia by the Little Sisters and their wonderful Staff. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations, in memory of Julia, be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, Sacred Heart Home, 630 Wynn Road, Oregon, OH 43416.
