Kaitlin Brooke
Our beloved Kaitlin Brooke Gerber joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 24, 2013.
Kaitlin was born on December 27, 1992 to Jeff and Jeni Gerber. Kaitlin was a beautiful, vibrant girl, amazing in every way and had an incredible love for Christ and those around her. She was always compassionate and quick to forgive. She loved her family and friends immensely. It is evident that she impacted a lot of lives in a uniquely, positive way, something that most of us will never come close to achieving in a lifetime. We are all better having known her.
Kaitlin is survived by parents, Jeff and Jeni Gerber; sisters, Brittani (Tyler) and Ashley (Scott); brothers, Ronnie (Stephanie) and Kevin; grandfather, Ronald S. Gerber; nephews, Caleb, Nico, and Mason; nieces, Emma and Bella; aunts, uncles, cousins and many loved friends.
Kaitlin is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Robert and Charlene Kreischer, and paternal grandmother, Betty Jo Gerber.
Kaitlin was baptized at First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo, 6520 Pilliod Rd., Holland, OH 43528, where all of the services celebrating her life will be held. Family will be receiving guests at the visitation from 2-8 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, followed by her internment at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, where Kaitlin will be laid to rest. Friends and family will return to the church to celebrate Kaitlin's life.
For anyone wishing to make a contribution, an endowment fund is being established in Kaitlin's name through First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo, 6520 Pilliod Rd., Holland, OH. This fund will be used to positively impact our community in Kaitlin's honor.

Jeni, how absolutely sad for you and your family. I personally never met kaitlin but from the sounds of it she was just as loving, considerate and caring as her mother. Every time i've seen you at work no matter what kind of day you were having or what you were going thru you always had a kind word to say and such a warm smile to greet people with. To the Gerber Family; My heart goes out to all of you for the tragedy you have suffered. I can assure you that your community will not forget your horrible misfortune, and will work at trying to educate young people to be on the lookout for dangerous individuals. These volunteer groups will grow in number - with the memory of your daughter, and the children of Newtown - along with all the other tragic events as of late, and a new awareness will emerge that will work hard to protect our children. Yes, the system failed your daughter, but there are common citizens that will be commited to do something in the fallen's behalf. Your daughter is gone, but not forgotten.

My husband and I are sorry for your loss. We met Kaitlin once when she was our waitress at Jim Shulls. It wasn't busy that evening and we had the opportunity to talk to her quite a bit. What an incredible young lady you raised. Beautiful thru and thru. The pain you are going through is something that only a parent can even begin to understand.
