Karl O.
Karl O. Lampkin, age 60, of Toledo, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013. He was born on January 12, 1953, to Earl and Michiko (Katayama) Lampkin. Karl graduated from Macomber V.T.H.S. in 1972, having earned many national titles and awards in athletics. Following high school, he attended T.U. then worked as a professional machinist-welder throughout his entire life. Karl was an award winning drag racing enthusiast. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Currently Karl is an Ohio Deputy Marshall.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Korrin (Gary) Schafer; siblings, William (Becky), Joy (William) Neiderman, Ralph (Karen); sister-in-law, Krista; many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. In addition to his parents, Karl was preceded in death by his brother, Mitchell.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, June 20, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

My sincerest condolences to the Lampkin family. I met Karl in Bristol in 1994 and spent time with him and Linda in Toledo. He was a real inspiration on and off the race track. He will be missed.

Karl was hell on wheels on the gridiron and real beast back in the day. I haven't seen him in years but he was one of those guys that an interaction would've been welcomed and certainly fun. Farewell old teammate, Rick Pozniak

My dad and Karl were real good friends; I lost my dad (Bill Toda) almost 4 years ago. Karl taught me a lot about racing and I LOVE him for that because he made me and my dad a lot closer in racing. Karl is a REALLLLy good man, rest in peace and have fun with friends hun.
