Larlan MEDINA Obituary

MEDINA Larlan Ruth L. Ruth Medina, age 84 years, of Toledo and formerly of Rossford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at the Sylvania Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on May 12, 1927 in Rossford, Ohio to Lawrence and Lillian (Smith) LaVrar. Ruth was employed with Kresege's in downtown Toledo in the millinery department and also for Lucille's Catering for many years where she was known for her cake decorating. Ruth was an exceptional bowler and bowled for the Toledo Blade Queens. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed. Surviving are her daughters, Linda (Ron) Black of Toledo and Patricia Cuellar of Mission Viejo, California; grandchildren, Lawrence (Lisa) Stoll, Kelly (John) Cluckey, Larry (Lee) Handley and Todd Handley. Also surviving are 6 great-grandchildren, Samantha Stoll, Lindsay Cluckey, Cody Stoll, Jacob Handley, Mathew Cluckey and Jenna Handley; step-granddaughter, Jennifer Black. She was preceded in death by parents, her husband, Lawrence Medina, granddaughter, Shari Lynn Stoll and her sister, Kathryn Hollabaugh. Family and friends may visit at the Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford, 830 Lime City Rd. on Friday, July 8, 2011 from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Mary Kay officiating. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Erie West Hospice for the loving care given to Ruth. 41 years ago, Ruth made my wedding cake, it was beautiful!! She was also my model for State Board to become a hairdresser, I have not seen her since 1970 but still saddened by her passing, she was a great friend!
