I met Lenore when she was living on Astor Place. She and my mother became best friends. They would each get a cup of coffee and call each other on the phone and talk everyday. She was so loving to me, and to my two children growing up. I am lucky enough to have a couple of her cross stitch masterpieces she made. My children each have one she made them when they were born, too. When my mother passed away in 2001 she told me how incredibly hard it was for her. I asked her if there was anything she wanted of my mom's, and all she wanted was a plain white coffee cup, to be able to keep having coffee with her. Later when I lost a best friend, I then knew what she was talking about. I am sure my mom and her are together now in heaven, catching up with each other.

I remember her as a very sweet lady. I used to walk past their house on Beecham on my way home from school, and if she was on the porch, she would always smile and say hello. Dan was a very good friend of mine and we used to sit on my porch and play Monopoly on summer days. He was a true gentleman throughout our years at Libbey, and I am sure his mother had alot to do with that. May your memories comfort you during this time.
