Leon J.



Leon J. Szych, age 76, passed away at home in Toledo, OH on Friday, November 13, 2015. He was born on September 11, 1939, in Toledo to Joseph and Eva (Marshall) Szych. Leon was employed as a tool and die maker and later as a liaison engineer at Doehler-Jarvis for 25 years, retiring in 1989. He was an avid duck hunter and also enjoyed walleye fishing on Lake Erie. Above all, Leon was a loving and devoted husband and family man, for whom he made many sacrifices and always had their best interests at heart.

Leon is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce (Velliquette); daughter, Cyndi (Ed) Pawlowski; son, Doug (Jenny) Szych; beloved niece, Tami Bohoney; grandchildren, Holly Pawlowski, Jacob Szych, and Rachel Szych; brothers, Ronald (Micki) Szych and Joey (Brenda) Szych, and brother-in-law, Rudy Bohoney. His parents and sister-in-law, Jacqueline Bohoney, preceded him in death.
