Leonard Thal Obituary
Leonard L. "Lenny"
Leonard L. Thal, age 82 and a lifelong Toledo resident died February 24, 2015, in Coconut Creek, Florida. He was the son of Morris and Loretta Fogelson Thal and a graduate of Scott High School, marrying the former Beverly Fishman who preceded him in death in 2011. Len owned the Lamb Insurance Agency in Toledo, and continued his career with United Insurance. He was honored as Agent Of The Year and inducted into the company's Hall Of Fame. He was a member of The Temple Congregation Shomer Emunim and a longtime former member of Highland Meadows Golf Club where he enjoyed golfing. Also preceding him was his son, Andrew Thal.
Surviving are his son, Matthew (Janice) Thal; grandsons, Zachary and Alexander Thal; companion, Selma Master; sisters-in-law, Edith Eckber and Lois Kander.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 1, 2015, at 1 p.m. in The Temple Congregation Shomer Emunim, Sylvania, Ohio. Interment Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Following services, family and friends will be received at The Temple. Receiving of friends will continue Sunday and Monday in Len's home.

Bev was my dad's first cousin so we would see him on special occasions. But I never got to know him until we went to South Africa with him and Selma. I really appreciated Lenny lending me South African money when we ran out of cash until we got back. He was a real mensch. We will miss you.

I will sadly miss not seeing Len for his biweekly manicure. He always had a joke & a smile. The best thing he ever gave me was his puppy Charlie. He was to much to handle when Bev became ill. He is now 9 and very sad . R.I.P. Len miss you!

Our condolences to Lennys Family and to his companion, Selma Masters. We considered Lenny as a good friend and a member of our Jewish Family. We are currently in Sannibel Florida and unable to attend the service but our prayers are for him and all his family.

Well Matt I can't stop thinking about all those times I babysat for you and Andy. All the great holiday dinners we had with brisket and green beans. Lenny taught me the art of selling insurance and much more. Time passes on too quickly and we grow apart, but the memories live on forever. Lenny was a polite and great friend. I'm sorry Matt.

We are in Fl where we read the paper daily. We were saddened to learn of Len's death; we have such good memories of him and your mom, especially of their strong support for the golf team and the many get-togethers they hosted at your Sylvania home.
