Linda Konopka Obituary

Linda D. Konopka

03/10/1946 - 08/23/2025

Linda D. Konopka, 79, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away, Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born on March 10th, 1946, in Northwood, Ohio, to Henry R. and Frances (Marcinek) Quetschke. Linda was a graduate of Northwood Highschool, Class of 1964.

Surviving is her loving husband, Larry; children, Josef (Tracy) Settelmeyer, Gretchen (Jeremy) Sigler; grandchildren, Hilary Settelmeyer, Melissa (Forrest) Wagner, Hannah, Kyle Sigler; great-grandchildren, Sofia Wagner, James Settelmeyer; sister, Cookie (Rob) Cherry; and brother, Danny (Sherry) Quetschke; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Frances Quetschke; brother, Bob Questchke; and her four-legged babies, Flopsy, Misty, Chuckie and Mazie.

Linda was a fabulous stay at home mom and homemaker who watched many nieces, nephews, grandbabies and great-grandbabies. Linda stayed close to home living in Curtice, Oregon, and Northwood, where she was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, many bowling teams, weekly bunko and the best table setter we knew.

Linda's hobbies included traveling, planting flowers and working in her yard, going to her kids', grandkids' and great-grandkids' functions or sporting events, reading, calling all of her friends and family on a weekly schedule to check on them, decorating her home for any reason she could find, and helping her family do the same. She loved shopping and buying things for others as that was her biggest love language, she loved holidays and bringing all of her loved ones together in her home.

Linda's proudest achievements were being a mom to her two kids and wife to her husband of 45 years. Her biggest accomplishment was being a Busia to her grandchildren and anyone else she met; Busia never met a stranger and always made everyone around her feel loved and welcomed. If you knew Linda, you knew her as Busia and you couldn't help but to love her. She would go out of her way to put a smile on anyone's face and when you saw her dimple show you couldn't help but to smile with her. Her unique "Lu-Lu-isms" will be missed tremendously by her friends and family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 2:00-8:00 p.m., at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd, Oregon, Ohio, where her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
