KORDASH
Lynn Corrigan
Lynn Corrigan Kordash, age 63, passed on July 14, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, Ohio. She was diagnosed with cancer in early March and fought it to the end. She was supported during these months by a host of caring friends, cousins and stepchildren.
Lynn grew up in Old Orchard and Sylvania, daughter of Mary Pat and Richard (Dutch) Corrigan, who predeceased her. Lynn was also predeceased by her beloved husband, Randy Kordash, a prominent Toledo Area Healthcare Executive who was the President and CEO of Mercy and St. Charles
Hospitals.
She is survived by her step- children, Kelly Goldhardt (Grant) of Powell, Ohio, Krystal Hoffman (Chris) of San Jose, California and Grant Kordash (Amir) of Oakland, California. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Gretchen Goldhardt and Alden Hoffman, who Lynn loved to spoil in every special way possible. She is also survived by cousins, Richard, Peter, Mark Malone, Pam Reed, Mari Yoder and their families. She is further survived by her uncle, Don Corrigan (JoAnne). Her cousin, David Malone preceded her in death.
She attended Gesu Grade School and Sylvania High School. She obtained her Bachelor's degree from Ohio University. She attained her Master's degrees from the University of Toledo (Education) and Central Michigan University (Public Health Administration).
Lynn worked in human services during her career as a social worker. This included Maumee Youth Camp, Rescue Crisis and as Director of Social Services for Mercy and St. Charles Hospitals. Later she was an active volunteer for numerous charities, including The Victory Center, St. Charles Hospital and the annual Pollyball event. She was also a champion of caring for her four legged friends. She had an exceptionally soft spot in her heart for Humane Societies, Rescue Centers, assist dog training centers, and for feral cats. Lynn would actively trap feral cats have them spayed and then
released back to their environs. There were many animals that Lynn adopted and cared for over the years. Her friends claimed these were the luckiest strays in Perrysburg.
Lynn was a very social person who was an excellent hostess. Her parties and small get-togethers were noted for their laughter and great conversation.
In the last few months Lynn was most appreciative for the love and care given by her friends, particularly the food brigade. She received excellent care from Dr. James Tita, the Oncology Department at St. Charles Hospital, Mercy Emergency Center in Perrysburg and the caregivers of Home Instead and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
Lynn was truly loved by many and will be missed dearly by all.
A private graveside service at Calvary Cemetery will be held for Lynn who has requested any memorial contributions to be made to the Wood County Humane Society, 801 VanCamp Rd., Bowling Green, OH 43402.
